Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance for Low-Income American Indians:
This Missouri Community Services Block Grant program provides services that address the causes and conditions of poverty experienced by low-income American Indians and empower families and individuals to become fully self-sufficient. Our program includes case management and on-site services, including food pantry assistance, holiday food baskets, hygiene and household items, utility assistance, substance abuse counseling, and financial literacy classes. KCIC also collaborates with area organizations and provides referrals for services.
American Indians who reside in Kansas are provided food pantry and other assistance with donated funds and food.
Please call for an appointment or for more information. 816-421-7608 ext 226
Donations of in-kind food, hygiene and household items are accepted with gratitude. Monetary donations are also accepted and as a Harvesters member agency, donation dollars stretch further for our food pantry programs. Donations to our food pantry are eligible for the Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credit. Please see our Ways to Donate page.
Free Food Fridays:
Every Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., KCIC gives away donated organic produce and groceries to the community. No documentation for residency, income or tribal affiliation is required and no appointment is necessary. Please bring your own bags.
USDA Distribution:
KCIC is a USDA (TEFAP) commodity distribution facility for Missouri residents whose income level meets the poverty level requirements of the USDA.
